The Stanhope Arms used to be a Shipstones tied house with three small rooms
The bar is facing you as you enter and the pub is quite smart inside, it has been opened out into one room with seating bays either side of the front door these have comfortable bench seating and the pub is carpeted throughout.
There were four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale and this was a top notch drink the other beers were Black Sheep bitter, GK IPA and Bombadier.
There is a small intimate restaurant up a couple of steps to the left near the bar and food is also served in the main part of the pub but tables are not laid out for diners.
This is quite a nice pub to have a few drinks in and the drink i had was very nice the food also looked quite nice.

Very nice old fash pub with a small cosy resturant upstairs. Very good ale & food
