I'm an American. I live real close to the middle of the country. We got the chance to make a trip to the old sod, and hit a few other places as well.
My wife & I stopped into the Mowers' Arms after church Mothering Sunday. Rather a plain little joint, about what one might expect from a publ I know we had a Pepsi and a bit of ice, and I'm not sure whether we ate. I don't believe so; I think we were meeting our two children later for food.
We stopped in because it was raining. It IS Manchester, after all. It's also next to the Moston Lane School, which I attended in 1957. It's also right close to Upper Conran, where my granny Makin lived most of her life. I hoped to find old friends or family members, but it was not to be.
Susie, the owner, was a real spark plug. High energy girl, she is. When we next find ourselves in the area, we'll definitely drop back in and stay a bit longer. I'm sure when do, we will be welcomed, well-treated, and well fed.

The Mowers Arms is a smallish pub that is half way along moston lane.
This was a fairly basic pub inside but it was comfortable enough, i had a drink in the bar which was empty as it was just after 11 in the morning.
This pub used to be a Bass tied house but there were no real ales on here i had a drink of keg Bass mild and this was a decent drink.
I think this pub is still open.
