Single cask offering of Doom Bar with the other hand pump not dispensing. Keg offering of Carling, Moretti, Neck Oil, Guinness, Murphy's Stout, Cruz, Inch's cider and the B&C Old Mount cider.
This is quite a small pub in the village of Taffs Well a bit west of the City centre. Inside the bar is a bare boarded affair with a patterned tiled skirt around the bar counter on the back wall mid part of “public” bar area. Seating is via banquettes on the wall opposite the bar counter, with regular tables and chairs otherwise in this part of the venue. There is a log burner on the left most wall of this space and the bar has a couple of TV's that were being attended to by Sky technicians during my visit. The small space fits in a dartboard also but tables would need to be moved for it to be in play! Over to the extreme left is a smaller area with tables laid for diners and where seating is via regular tables and chairs and some banquettes fitted around the walls. Quite a cosy pub that would be good to watch live sport, but the lack of a decent beer range means it cannot be higher than an average rating.

First time in here, and I'm impressed. It's Xmas Eve, so possibly an untypical lunchtime session. Excellent fish and chips for £10, but two quid for a can of Coke Zero seems steep. Very friendly and helpful young lass behind the bar. I'm guessing the crowd are mainly locals, so possibly a bit cliquey for some people. Football on in the main room (inevitably), but you can hide from it in the smaller room. Pretty pedestrian selection of drinks, but Doom Bar is on pull. I'll definitely come here again.
