Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Gate Inn
Excellent little pub in a hamlet off the beaten track, featuring a traditional bar with a welcome real fire and plenty on ephemera, plus a larger lounge (but this is closed most lunchtimes). The counter is in the latter part, so service is via a hatch (although the friendly landlord was popping in and out to refill glasses and collect empties). Also has a compact beer garden at the back. Theakston Best Bitter (£3.55), Wainwright and Butcombe's Haka available from the three handpumps.
