Rough as arseholes town centre boozer. The pub stretches back but the back part looked rather disused. Everyone this Saturday afternoon were congregated in the 2 small front areas. A single handpull dispensed Bass Bitter. Keg-u-likes for the rest of the beers. I've been in much worse.

We called in here as part of a crawl around what were supposed to be the better real ale pubs in Ilkeston. To be fair, I had been warned that the pubs at this end of town were not so much my cup of tea as at the south end, and when I heard the loud music pounding out of the door (Sunday lunchtime) I almost didn't go in at all. Once inside there were two hand pumps, one with the clip turned around. Some of my fellow crawlers plumped for the sole remaining beer, but I'll only drink Bass if it's in tip top condition, and this looked pretty ropy, so I gave it a miss.

This used to be shipstones tied house.
This pub has been done up in a modernish style with pine floors the last time i came in here there was a London Pride clip turned round so i had a Guinness the pub is usually busy and i think it opens at 9.00 am for drinks not bad if your thirsty and want a drink in the morning.
