I’m under the impression that the Silverhill Tavern opened in March this year after previously being known as Bar Diva. There is no Sky Sports advertised here anymore as the screens have disappeared, but there is a dartboard to the right of the bar area. There is another bar area with saloon doors to the left of the pub, but I did not venture in as it was empty. The main bar area was hardly kicking as my presence made the number of customers reach four and two of them were playing darts. This was at 20:30 on a Saturday evening which I found surprising as the inferior Welcome Stranger across the road was fairly busy; maybe the residents of this area have no taste! Alongside the ubiquitous draught there are four hand pumps in the main bar area which were drawing Harveys Best and three brews from Rother Valley which were Level Best, Golden Valley (very nice) and Hoppers Ale. I spotted three more hand pumps in the other bar, but I don’t know what they were drawing, maybe some beers from Dark Star which is advertised outside. Out the back there is a concreted area with some café style seating and out the front are three picnic tables. I didn’t notice any upcoming events advertised, but there is a meat raffle at 16:00 on Sundays. On a bad note I didn’t like the tinny radio playing in the background, especially when Hammertime came on and the barmaid certainly didn’t look like she wanted to be there.
I’d like to visit this pub again when it is busy, if it ever is.
