Originally The Hat and Feathers, it went through a stage of being a restaurant only, but they now allow drinkers again. The main bar is J-shaped and has lots of formica and metal lampshades on show, lots of glitter but not much substance. The main restaurant area is upstairs, but we didn’t venture up. There were strong cooking smells in evidence which didn’t whet the appetite; the opposite in fact. No real ale or craft beers are available, just three different lagers. They did manage to find me a bottle of Bombardier and charged £6 for it – the same bottle would cost £1.29 in the nearby Co-op (we checked). The staff were pleasant, although disorganised. Not somewhere that rocks so I’ll keep this on at bay.
