A former rectory and doctors’ surgery built in the mid-Victorian period, it’s now an hotel with a small bar open to non-residents. There is a car park and a garden which is quite pleasant and well kept, but is not immune from the noise of the town centre. The bar has no real ale or cider available and doesn’t feel that welcoming. The landlady was rather curt, certainly not giving us the feeling that we should like to stay for more than light refreshments while passing through although the food did look ok. I’ll leave this one to the Knights Who Say ‘Ni!’.
