Unfortunately our midweek visit found this pub without any real ale because it was settling - there's only the one hand pump. If this were my pub I'd be putting on at least two real ales now that Wetherspoons have revamped the Wagon & Horses - there's bound to be some overspill trade from that, and the pub is a short walk from the Commercial, making the basis of a small crawl for real ale fans. As it is, we had to settle for a half of Tetleys Smooth, which was tolerable but not something to make us want to hurry back here next time. Other than the beer, this is quite a nice pub, stone built and with an authentic and friendly feel to it, with a couple of old penny arcade slot machines to provide a bit of interest, and if there were a couple of real ales I'd make a point of calling in here on the way to or from the Commercial.

The Coach and Horses is a decent looking stone built pub that is set sideways onto the road, the pub is situated in the middle of Chapeltown and it is opposte the Royal Oak.
Once inside the pub had one room with the bar facing, there was a nice looking stone floor and the pub had lots of different drinking areas,The seating was mainly comfortable bench type with chairs, there was a pool table to the rear right.
There were no real ales on the bar and the keg options were Tetley Smooth or John Smiths extra smooth cold crap,so i had a Guinness which was ok.
This is quite a nice pub but it was let down by having no real ales on.
