This pub was recommended to us for a meal as we were staying in a pub/hotel up the road. We found the staff very friendly and helpful but the best part about it was the food, it was beautiful. I would strongly recommend that anyone staying in the area give The Hanging Gate a try for it's meals.

The Hanging Gate is about a mile from the centre of chapel en le Frith,it seemed to be a food orientated pub but normal drinkers like myself were welcome there was only one real ale on the bar which was Theakston best and this is'nt a brilliant drink even when served well,the pub has lots of different drinking areas and it is probably popular with older drinkers, not a bad pub shame about the beer.
