Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Jenny Wren
New-build Marston's pub / restaurant in The Meads development between Milton Regis and Bobbing. Set in an overall L shape, the various seating and dining areas are furnished and decorated in the bland corporate style that you would expect. However, it does at least have a pool table, beer garden and a very modest children's play area. Disappointingly, just Pedigree (£4.65) available from a trio of handpumps.

Jenny Wren is a large L-shaped Marstons pub with a central L-shaped bar counter that supports premium keg alongside two banks of three hand pumps. During my recent late Tuesday afternoon visit five pumps stood unused and the Pedigree was covered by a plastic Halloween mask so I’m not sure if it was on. To the left of the bar counter is a pizza oven and small food preparation area. Most of the seating is geared towards dining, but opposite the bar is a pool table and some bar seating. There are a couple of televisions and BT Sport is advertised. Out the front is a large patio area with seating and a children’s play area with climbing apparatus. This is a typical just out of town cheap family friendly food pub.

Sittingbourne's newest pub, The Jenny Wren, was built on the site of an Anglo Saxon cemetery in 2010 and is currently owned by Marston's. It consists of a huge single bar and has a large car park even though it mostly serves the new housing estate which surrounds it. Formulaic, mass-produced factory food is served by young uniformed bar staff who are, for the most part, pleasant and helpful, not to mention polite - not MacDonalds-polite, but genuinely so. There were 8 handpumps on the bar, but only 3 ales on. I had Jennings's Cumberland which was at the right temperature but was very over-gassed. Although every bone in my body was telling me this was wrong, I have to admit I enjoyed myself and can imagine coming back for a pint in passing, but in the same way that Darth Vader might pop in for a swift one between destroying planets.
