A large Victorian corner pub, consisting of 2 bars, both of which are carpeted and both of which have a pool table. There are gaming machines, comfy sofas and an eclectic mix of tat, including a few football and rugby memorabilia, adorning the walls. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some of the locals were a bit too noisy, although they were well-meaning. The juke box was actually quite pleasant. There was no real ale which was the one down side, though there was Old Rosie in bottles which was at least enjoyable. Freshly prepared food is available to eat in or take away. The lack of ale means I won't be making this a regular haunt, sadly.
