A long narrowish pub astride two roads. You enter into a square room with the counter to your left. Round the edges are banquettes and a sofa, a few tables take up the middle, there’s a big screen on the end wall. Traditional colour scheme of green painted lincrusta with cream above and it has a leaf patterned carpet and a nice fireplace. To the left beyond the counter and down a few steps is another sitting area with a pool table. The counter with neat stained glass panels has four pulls, two in use with a decent Ossett Blonde and a Greene King Coronation special, usual keggy stuff. My fellow customers were a couple of women with a baby and a nicotine bouncer who had returned to his lager, they were discussing a friend who’d been sectioned. It’s nicer than I’ve made sound though.

The Halfway House is situated on the Eastern edge of Stanningley, the pub has a very long frontage.
Once inside the main bar room is to the right, this is a decent sized square shaped room, the seating is very comfy bench type and small stools around the edge of the room, there are a few tables and small stools in the middle area, there is a small stage to the rear right, the left side is down one step, there is a pool table here and a few normal tables and chairs.
There were four of five pumps on the bar but only one in operation, this had a decent drink of Copper Dragon Best Bitter on.
This is a pleasant and comfortable pub to have a drink in.
