The original bar as described by Steve, below, has shrunk considerably and there is no longer any outside seating. What you find now is a small, circular bar in the centre of the building, almost like a bunker, with a servery, no windows and a limited number of seats. There is no ale or real cider, just a tiny collection of cheap and nasty megakeg offerings that would put the average village hall to shame. Even the staff were poor quality. No not worth bothering with, even if you happen to be staying here.

Modern bar that is part of the distinctive 1960's Roundhouse hotel. Large, open-plan and tourist friendly. No ale at all, which was a mild surprise.

I had a bit of trouble getting into wave as all of the front opens up and I had to try each door to find out which one was open when I visited early on Saturday afternoon. The interior is made up by a large restaurant area to the right with set tables. I didn’t see any menus, but fish and chips are advertised outside for £4.50 so I doubt that the other food is very expensive. The left hand side is the bar area where there is seating split up by thin columns that all have small plasma screens attached to them for showing Sky Sports. The drinks selection is uninteresting with only standard draught being available, but the two people on duty were very friendly. I decided to have half a Fosters which I drank at one of the many picnic tables that face a busy roundabout out the front.
The need came for me to use the toilet that was very clean, but half way through a tom tit the motion sensor lights went out and as I was the only customer and I had to fumble in the dark. Thankfully I proved my old boss wrong by proving that I do know my arse from my elbow.
I prefer a proper pub so a return visit is unlikely.
