Blackthorn _ left this review about The White Hart
A traditional looking, stone built pub in the heart of this small village jus opposite the church, it’s quite a good size internally being divided in to three rooms as well as a skittle alley and paved garden.
The lounge bar to the right has a typical cosy country pub ambience, with a carpeted floor, low beamed ceiling along with a few horse brasses tacked on to them, a fire-place with wood burning stove at the rear and plenty of exposed stone waling. A number of brass plates were hung on the walls as some colourful pictures of ships and such like that were for sale. A bar to the left was broadly similar in terms of décor although perhaps with not quite the same cosy ambience, and here too was a large fireplace and a plasma screen mounted up in the corner. A further small room to the left housed a darts board.
The menu offered a decent selection of “pub grub” dishes such as pie of the day, fish & chips, burger, lasagne, etc., and these were mostly priced around a tenner. A separate lunch time menu offered one course for £7, and my ham, egg & chips from here was a decent and tasty dish, especially the triple cooked chips.
Beers on tap were Doom Bar and Otter Ale, with a further two pumps appearing unused. Ciders were well represented with Thatcher’s Gold, Blackthorn and Natch.
