Visited 01/09/26. Visited previously as Amuse Bouche on 19/02/25.

Cask here was a single handpump dispensing St Peter's Organic Ale with three non-dispensing handpumps. Apparently, a summer thing, will be more utilised in the autumn and winter. In perfect nick and for £4, what's not to like? A really decent keg range of Budvar, Blanche Bruxelles, Chouffe Session, Duvel pale ale, the Pavement Press from Hereford Cider, Orion Japanese lager, Portobello Pilsner, Guinness, Burning Sky Arise, Bandit pale ale, the Dennis Hopp'r from Mondo, Polari pale ale, Siren Pillow Talk hazy IPA, Soundwave IPA and Lumina pale ale.

Glass fronted venue, doesn't look too different from previous incarnation, which isn't really an incarnation, just a rebranding of the same place with a bigger focus on the beers. Bar counter on the right-hand side at the front, classy with tall stool seating on an attractive tile skirt. Ledge in the front window with tall stool seating and tall stool seating at the bar counter. Tall tables down the left-hand wall with a corner booth table at the end of this side. Opposite a booth table, and then an outside area at the back covered with regular tables and chairs. There is an upstairs function room. No screens and an 80's pop soundtrack playing. A large group in, apparently fortnightly on a Tuesday, playing backgammon, including this evening so the bar staff tell me the current world champion. Incredibly well-behaved bunch, I would be a disruptor in that world. Might be a bit controversial but I thought this was a really good venue and rated accordingly.

No cask. Keg offering of Guinness, London Pilsner from Portobello, the Polari Pale Ale and the Hop, Skip and Juice pale ale from Vocation.

Ostensibly a neighbourhood wine bar. Tiled flooring with bar counter on the right-hand wall just inside the front door. Some stools at the bar counter. Tall tables down the left-hand wall with tall, backed stools. A ledge in the front window with tall stools also. Some regular tables at the back of the venue then some outside seating at the rear of the venue. Quite glitzy and a booming soundtrack to boot. Doesn’t set the beer world alight but quite a pleasant venue in which it was nice to see the keg choices being not mainstream.

No wonder I couldn't find this place when paying a revisit to the White Horse which I last visited in 1985, as this is now a cocktail bar. My last visit here was in the late '80s, when it was a locals' boozer called the Alma, without the locals' found then and now in the aforementioned White Horse.
