Smart bar, one of the smaller ones in their chain I can immediately recall attending. Inside front door are a couple of high tables and a couple of standard tables that benefit from the outside light and an ability to watch the world go by in this busy spot. They also have some pavement tables utilised when weather facilitates. The bar is along the right hand wall of the room with some comfy seats at small tables on the facing walls before opening out slightly into an area with larger metallic surface tables. There is a small seating area at the back and an area the other side of the wall facing the bar with some green leather banquettes for a slightly more chilled space. Small number of high stools at the bar also. The lighting is nice and it is all round a classy venue.
Keg only beer range with taps for 4 lagers (Peroni, Asahi, Estrella and Pravha). Guinness, Aspall cider and Camden Pale Ale completes the taps. Not exactly a destination for beer choices but I suspect people tend to be attracted by other types of alcoholic beverage here.
Found the venue very pleasant and it was a quiet spot to do some work whilst in Brighton again today. Bit of an easy fill in for the pre lunch kill time! Would probably only return if was looking to stop with the wife for a pre dinner drink around here. Plenty of other places to go otherwise in the immediate vicinity.

Browns is a bar and brasserie that should not to be confused with the restaurant part a few doors away. Apart from a group of eight girls sitting at a large table in one of the tucked away areas at the rear I was the only customer on the Tuesday evening I visited. The service was polite in an insincere way and I was very surprised to not receive my change on a silver tray. Amstel, Kozel, Peroni, Pilsner Urquell and Guinness were all available on draught and the usual bottled beers were sitting in the fridges. Obviously there is no TV, but there was some crap euro pop playing in the background.
This place is not cheap and not my scene so I’ll be avoiding in future.

The bar and restaurant are in two separate buildings a couple of doors away from one another.
