Will Larter left this review about The Barley Mow
We made the mistake of turning right when presented with two doors in the entrance, to be met by a blast of the left-over cooking smells of someone's lunch. There was no one in this room, and no hand pumps on the bar there, so we returned through the porch into the main bar room on the left. I neglected to photograph the pump clips, and my sketchy note made at the time says only "sev. HP", which would be several rather than seven, I reckon. My half of Bass was good, but this pub was not as pleasant an experience as the nearby Elms that we had just come from, partly because coloured by the initial encounter with the cooking smell.
