There was someone sitting on the steps as I approached to take a photo of this obviously closed pub, and she moved willingly to allow my shot, and then invited me in to have a look around. It turns out she is an owner of this and the Turks Head nearby. The Blind Pig is not open in the early part of the week, but they are busy enough at weekends, and she was here on a Tuesday to tidy up and clean, and deal with deliveries. This is a former bank, a very elegant building, with a large safe still embedded in a wall. The spiral staircase post-dates the bank, and another interesting feature is the fake bookcase that swivels to provide entrance to what is used as the green room when they have bands playing.

A music oriented bar with a single downstairs room, I didn't climb the spiral staircase as I'm a bit old and infirm. The counter has three pulls with on this occasion beers from Sonnet43 and Abbeydale which I'm told is the regular. Quality was average, there are also about six national kegs.
Mainly standing room only with some low booth seating down one side. Opening hours are shifted towards the night life end of things.

As described by Alan below. We called in on a Thursday evening when there were a few more people in the place. 3 handpumps on the bar serving changing guests and my pint was in very good nick. Tamla Motown & Northern Soul playing on the jukebox. A good bar and worth adding to any crawl around Sowerby Bridge.
