The Wardwick Tavern was a smart pub that was housed in a nice looking building, when i first went in here it was an Ind Coope tied house with a decent drink of Ind Coope bitter on the bar.
After a long gap in visiting this pub again,i thought i would give it a try.
Once inside the bar faces in an oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the floor is bare boarded, there are tall tables and to the front and normal tables and chairs on the left side, there is a raised area up steps to the rear right.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Bass, which was a decent enough drink, the other real ale was GK IPA Gold.
The pub was ok for a quick drink, but not as good as it was years ago.

This pub is no longer in the Good Beer Guide after one or more changes of landlord/tenant in the last couple of years. The landlord who got it into the GBG is now just down the road in the Metrobar. Beer range is much reduced as is the quality. Good place to watch football due to the big screens, but no longer worth calling in for the beer.

A cracking little pub hidden away in town. If you've had enough of the new type of bars springing up everywhere, and a want a drinking hole for drinking people, then the Wardwick is the place for you.
