The Gardeners has reopened after a complete (£200K) refurbishment and updating of what had become a rather "tired" local. As previously stated, the pub is very handy for the Wythenshawe Park tram stop which passes right next door.

Called in 7-11-2014 while on newly opened Metro. Just by Wythenshawe Park Stop. Had a pint of Unicorn (hand-pulled).

Been going in here for fifty years! New(ish) landlord has improved things lately. Robinsons tied house. Well kept bitter. Various acts on nearly every day, even in the afternoon. Small lounge so can be a bit overpowering if you just want a quiet pint.Snacks available but no real catering. Clientele mostly older, pensioners. Quite friendly. Typical Manchester banter - they don't mean any offence if they say in reply, "Now that's where you're effing well wrong". They want a debate. Enter into the spirit of it and you can have a bit of a laugh with some of the old rogues that frequent this pub.Tram works at the moment (2014) mean the car park is occupied by diggers, and the clientele includes a lot of thirsty construction workers.
