A classic 1930's pub build at the same time as the upmarket housing of Brookmans Park and close to the station.If using the car park,log in your reg at the bar.The area around the entrance with the bar ahead is the most pubby part with some high tables and lower level dining style tables on both sides with the bar ahead.The flatscreen was off,light muzak was playing and it's dog friendly.The customers reflect the area,generally well heeled and polite.
To the right is an occasional smaller bar with a lounge,behind the main island bar is a large dining room with tables set while at the rear left is a further dining area in front of large windows with views of the pubs grounds.The high ceiling throughout give a feeling of grandure,there is some wood panelling but a lot of the 30's has been lost in various refurbs.Apart from the large size,few heritage features survive.
Three handpumps but only Windsor & Eton Mandarin available ,NBSS 3. The food menu produced some decent food and I would certainly use it again for that purpose,but little interest for anyone serious about ale consumption.
