Tris C left this review about Jack Straws Castle
Closed around the mid-2000s and converted primarily to residential usage. This was the highest pub above sea level in London.
In the mid-80s this was a magnet for Hampstead Heath's gay community and not long prior to closure a rebrand aimed to attract a more mixed and family-orientated crowd. In the 2000s however, loopholes in the planning system allowed this historic pub to go the way of the dodo.
My rating is based on my sole visit undertaken circa 1985 so never saw it in its final guise.
