Mary D’s is a long open plan pub with a bar counter that runs across the centre of the rear wall. Standard and premium keg, including Mary D’s Blue Moon, were available. Seating runs under the front windows and up the right hand side. A pool table and dartboard are found to the left. Televisions are found throughout and there is a jukebox for when football isn’t on. At the rear is a large function room with a disco ball hanging from the ceiling. It was packed in her with jubilant City fans and the place erupted when the FA Cup trophy was held aloft of the TVs. There was great atmosphere, but I’m not sure this would be the case on with no football.

Mary D's Beamish Bar is now just called Mary D's as they no longer sell Beamish. It's an ex workingman's club and it's obvious once you enter. There's a massive front room with loads of features, many of them Oirish related. There's two pool tables, a dartboard and a table football machine along with a jukebox and loads of big TV's. There's a statue of Marilyn Monroe in the corner and several of the high tables are made from old mangles. There was a wake in progress in the function room, so I couldn't have a proper look, but it looked large when peering through the beer hatch. Kids are welcome until 7 p.m. and there were a couple of families in. Sadly there's no real ale, but they were selling shedloads of fizz. Glad I visited, but I don't need to call again.
