Became a live music venue, with variable opening hours. Was still going in May 2021, according to their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/The-Waterloo-Hotel-Taddington-185064631669800/

Unfortunately this pub was closed when I stopped. It looks like it may be getting a refurb, judging on its contents.

The Waterloo is a badly placed roadside inn, situated as it is just over the brow of a hill on the A6. This may have been a good place to stop and change horses, but with today's slightly faster modes of transport any traffic heading north is past the pub before its presence is registered, and southbound cars face a death-defying right turn into the car park in the face of the northbound traffic hurtling over the hill. For myself, after the long haul up the hill from Ashford on my bike, the Waterloo was an anticipated and very welcome sight.
This is a Robinsons pub, so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular in the beer department and the choice of Dizzy Blonde and Unicorn was much as expected. I had a half of the former, which was OK as a thirst quencher but, as with most beers from this brewer, left a little be desired by way of taste (and I'm not referring to the pump clip design). The pub is furnished with a military array of standard tables and chairs, with only a sofa and a couple of deep arm chairs near the fireplace daring to break ranks. This pub is fine if you're in need of a drink and happen to be passing, but not one to go out of the way to visit.
