This is a serious rock pub. There are several adjoining rooms with a quiet area as you enter and a small stage at the rear. There's no real ale on the bar, just standard kegs. But the beer is not what this pub is about. There was a thrash metal band called Three Stone Monkey playing on the Saturday night I visited. It really took me back in time to when I used to visit punk venues in the 70's. The atmosphere was just the same, edgy, but with no feeling of threat. I can't really comment on how good the band were as it's not really my thing. But everyone in the place was loving them. I wasn't really dressed for the place, but I was still made welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my 30 minutes of nostalgia.
