A very smart JDW, saved and refurbished to a high standard in 2013. There are parts of the original 400 year old ceiling still visible in the fron room. It's all one room really, but clever partitioning has made it look like there are multiple rooms. The bar is along the rear wall and had the usual suspects plus 3 guest ales. I tried two of the guests which were both in gooe nick. There's a beer patio to the side of the pub, which certainly wasn't an option during our visit. Both myself and Ms CAMRA liked this one. Comfortable, decent range of ale and efficient bar staff.

Visited again to find the guest ale offering still a bit limited, and one of those looked like it may have been off as the pull had been left in a downward position. Busy as you'd expect for a Spoons at lunchtime.

This Spoons is a very smart building externally and has a rambling inside layout. Disappointingly there were only three guest ales available and they were all bitters, so a bit poor compared to most branches.

It was very busy at the time of my mid week lunch time visit, but the staff were efficient at clearing plates away etc.

I might give it another go when next in Leek but I'd probably be tempted to try a few other places first.
