Old Boots left this review about 21 High Street
Looking like a shop conversion although a former pub, it's a modernish bar with a large pizza oven at the rear. Front area with counter to side and low/high seating and a screen. To the back in a slightly raised area are some low tables and chairs. Two pulls of lacklustre beers not particularly well kept, plus a horseshoe, t-bar and a couple of solos of well worn favourite kegs. Toilets are upstairs next to a roof terrace without a view.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Queen
The Queen is next door to John Smiths brewery and i would have thought it was John Smiths brewery tap.
Once inside here there was one largish room that seemed a bit bare and not that inviting in fact it remimded me of a working mens club.
There were three real ales on here i had a drink of John Smiths Magnet which was a decent drink the other beers were John Smiths cask and Theakston best.
The pub was fairly busy so the locals must like this place.
