Large 2 roomed boozer off the main drag through Bootle. The larger room does indeed have a tiny stage area for whatever they have on. A raised area is to the right of the stage area. I didn't notice the animal heads to be honest, mainly because I was in the larger room. Its a pleasant enough place I suppose. No real despite the sign outside and the handpump on the bar suggesting differently.

Sturdily built clean and tidy local with a landlord that was both friendly and helpful. The pub has 2 entrances and if you approach from the Litherland Road side you enter a large lounge with the bar to your left and behind this is the tap room. There is also an open room straight ahead of the lounge and a small stage across from the front of the bar.Other features include a number of decrotive brass animal heads in the tap room that support the bar hand rail, and also in the Gents there was a set of old large urinals that are diminishing quite rapidly nowadays. On my arrival a couple of old timers in the lounge area were joining in with a jukebox song and performing a rendition (albeit slightly out of tune) of an old Cockney number.
Although there was no real ale on the pub had a good atmosphere and enjoyed my short chat with the landlord.
