From the outside this looks like a classic country pub,clearly an old building.However the interior has suffered a clumsy ,modern refurb destroying any rustic charm.There is modern dark wood affect flooring,modern leather backed furniture,some high tables ,and a functional side servery despite the old beams.At the rear a carpeted dining room with more traditional furniture.The glass entrance door should have been a warning !
The lunchtime food menu started at around £11,expensive pub grub,while the A La Carte pushed the price point much higher.My food was de minimis and over priced.
At the bar standard kegs and two handpumps for GK Abbot and IPA (NBSS Acceptable) There is no rule debarring only drinking but would you really want a session on GK brews ? .Occasinal live music will require booking,so for me this is really an overpriced restaurant in a pub and is not worthy of a revisit.
