The interior has recently been reordered, the U-shaped interior now giving way to a parallel bar to the rear (see photo); the eagle eyed will have spotted that this is the same bar array as at the Oxford Road Tap. It also means there’s more standing space for people to freeze their ‘nads off.
A visit yesterday yielded six cask ales, five fairly ordinary borderline mainstream numbers ranging from just 3.4 to 4.00% ABV, my choice of Iron Pier Cast Iron Stout at 4.7% and £2.45 a half the obvious choice but too cold, though fine once warmed up.
The nearby Barrel Vault is preferable.

A revisit for me last week as well on a particularly cold lunchtime. Fortunately, not many in so we could prop ourselves up the bar for one. Spectacular choice as always with an impressive array of cask and an even more impressive array of keg detailed on the chalk boards.
Well described by others I have to say I tend to visit on warmer days when the improved as a result of covid outside space can be utilised, as I really don’t find it comfortable inside when there is a crowd in. Yes the choice is spectacular but I’ve never been enamoured by the comfort level here, as I tend to have to visit at busy times.

After an elongated period without visiting I’ve found occasion to pop in twice lately. The selection is broad (always at least one dark on cask) with good quality breweries rather than cheap rubbish, the cask quality excellent and prices are incredibly reasonable for London, you’d struggle to find comparable within 5 miles outside of Wetherspoons. The toilets will forever remain appalling and the spiral staircase is an absolute nightmare. But where it really matters - the bar - whilst others have fallen away, this one seems to have upped its game and it’s a must-do on a Zone 1 crawl. 8.5

My original review seems have to disappeared into the void somehow. Many pixels have been spilt since then by others so all I need to say is - it's one of two original buildings at the front of the (scandalously) demolished old Euston Station.
Upsides - lots of beer in great shape; prices reasonable for London. Quirky surroundings.
Downsides - lethal cast iron spiral staircase with no passing points. Being hassled by the local junkies and scumbags outside.
It's a good place. Rated 8
