Strongers . left this review about The Crown
After a bit of time milling around looking for the entrance I discovered it around the back where steps lead up to seating on a terrace area with seating. The short end of the L-shaped bar counter faces the entrance and the slightly longer run faces seating to the right. Through to the left is another seating area with brick fireplace and piano. There was some background music playing during a recent midweek afternoon visit. The bar supports premium and craft keg alongside four handpumps that were drawing Robinson’s Cumbria Way, Trooper, Unicorn and Dizzy Blonde. Food isn’t available, but they’re hoping it will be later in the year. This is a cosy pub with friendly staff and local crowd. I’d pop back in if passing.

This is a small Robbies pub with a large car park at the front. The entrance is reached vis the road to the left. Two opened out rooms with wooden settles around the walls in the lounge area. The front room has mainly dining tables and chairs. A family with a couple of well behaved kids were playing a board game in the lounge. The front room was full of middle aged blokes fffing and blinding in full hearing of the kids. 4 Robbies beers on handpump, but my pint of Dizzy was ony just about OK. This place didn't really do it for me at all. It's supposed to be the oldest pub in the area, being about 400 years old, but it doesn't look it or feel it.
