Will Larter left this review about The Victoria Hotel
A traditional railway pub, and The Vic couldn't be much closer to the platform. The only downside is this really is the back of beyond, and hardly any trains stop here. The pub itself belies its slightly unpromising outward appearance, and the interior was enhanced by the presence of four hand pumps on the bar and the cricket world cup final on the screen. The three beers on were Jennings Bitter and Cumberland Ale, plus a beer called Victoria's Secret Bitter, which Untappd tells me is a Marstons beer of 3.6%. I went for the Jennings Bitter, which was in good condition. It was comfortable and friendly here but I didn't stop long as I was heading for Eskdale and wanted to be there in time for the last hour of the cricket.
