My mother used to work here (circa 1984) and I remember some long afternoons spent sitting quietly in the corner with a coke and packet of crisps during the school holidays. The clientele were mostly in their fifties and I remember lots of horse racing chat. There was a Ladybug arcade machine (can’t remember the last time I saw an arcade machine in a pub) and I had mastered it and could get an hours play for ten pence. I can also recall going behind the bar and cleaning the glasses on a spinning brush, but I think that these are illegal now due to hygiene regulations, my god how are we all still alive.

This pub was demolished at least six years ago.
