Just off the main Market Square, this is a two-roomed GK house offering accommodation and has a high-ceilinged 'hotel' air to its interior. A central bar serves a main bar room as well as a pool room, but with just two ales available from the five stumps - GK IPA and St Austell, the latter at £1.75 a half, was excellent). Seemed to be a bit of a work in progress ('Sunday Lunches Coming Soon'), but despite a bit of a wait to get served, the guv'nor was a pleasant chap and gave me a cheery goodbye on my departure. Fingers crossed for the next six months of this pub's life.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Griffin Inn

This Greene King pub is more substantial than it first appears, with a large-ish dining area behind the the bar (which itself appears to have been opened out from several smaller rooms). There is also a side room housing a pool table and the place offers B&B accommodation. Decor-wise, it has obviously been refurbished fairly recently in a modern (if rather anonymous) style. Clientele was mostly families eating out, but the bar area was also quite busy. Plenty of staff, who seemed both efficient and friendly - a very welcome combination! Reasonable-looking menu, and thankfully one of those rare places which caters on a Sunday lunchtime for those just wanting a sandwich as well people looking for a full roast dinner. Four GK ales on handpump, and my pint of Morland Original (£2.80) was in good form. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit, and as the northernmost of the seven pubs in the village it is the first one you see if approaching from the nearby M1 and seeking something better than the motorway services.
