A CAMRA favourite, possibly unrelated to the hand pump count (10 in each bar) or maybe not. My pint was in excellent order in spite of all pumps being in action during the days of plague. Most beers are from Lincoln Green has they are in partnership with Everards here, Tiger is also available. Two bar set up, the right hand one being perhaps more loungey, certainly that applied clientele wise. Nicely decorated, there’s a potted history of licensees in the “lounge” including the splendidly named Mary Daft in 1825 -1843.
Fairly good anti plague, although having used the NHS App I was surprised to have to fill in their table form. It’s a double sided thing, green for clean one side and red for used on the other side which is in itself a good idea, not sure how much stick the bar staff get about it though.

Another great brewery tap in Nottingham, serving Lincoln Green beers. We called in on a tap crawl of Nottingham in September 2017. The pub was clean and inviting, nice staff, clean toilets and great beer, with the exception of the Everards Tiger that was a bit cloudy. Well worth the hike out of town.

I had high expectations after reading some top reports about this pub in the Nottingham Drinker. I can now understand why, as this pub is faultless in my opinion. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were very upbeat, and they certainly knew their craft when it came to cask ales. We entered the pub bar side and had a choice of ten ales on handpump, it was only when we visited the lounge that we noticed a further choice of ales on handpumps along the lounge side bar. There were six Lincoln Green beers to choose from on our visit, so we went for the Marion and the Archer, which were in excellent condition.
The lounge side was traditional in décor, with some chesterfield settees, private booths along one wall, carpeted throughout and an upright piano was the main central feature, which comes into use on Thursday nights.
The bar area was mostly light coloured timbers and had some bench seating around the walls and the bar counter was in solid oak. There was also a beer garden, which was accessible from the bar. Great pub and well worth a visit.
