When i first went in the Durham Ox it was an Ansells tied house with only fizzy keg Ansells Bitter on the bar.
After walking down Burton Road it was nice to see it still up and running,so i had to go in for old times sake.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the room is carpeted and the bar is on the mid right side, there is comfy bench seating to the front with chairs and there is a pool table in the middle of the room.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Worthington Cream crap, which was a pretty poor drink.
There were a few locals in on my Saturday afternoon visit and a TV was on to the front.
I was happy enough having a quick half in this pub and i am sure it is better than having to visit The Samaritons.

This is a truly awful pub. One roomer, totally dominated by a pool table. The landlady was playing on here with one of the regulars. There obviously aren't many regulars as there were 4 people in including the landlady when I arrived at 9:30 on a Saturday night. There's some really crap plastic seating to the rear of the pub, there's also a jukebox. No real ale of course and my half of something fizzy wasn't even very good. If you're desperate enough to come in here, you may well be better off at The Samaritans a few doors away.
