According to What Pub this is a Fitzgerald pub but on my arrival there was a Sale Agreed sign on the outside so whether I visited it in the last days as a Fitzgerald outlet or the first days under new ownership was unclear.
I entered into a public bar that was doing a fair trade on a late Wednesday afternoon. There is a more cosy lounge but it was unlit so presumably not yet open. Although the public bar is quite basic it seems to have been modernised with a false ceiling and air conditioning.
There are five hand pumps which had two unused, Old Rosie cider, Alchemy Blonde Star and Black Sheep Best. I found this choice disappointing so had an Aspall's cider (£3.65).
I was disappointed by this one and it may well change or close down.

This is a real canine pub, which is fab - the dogs were as friendly as their owners. Beer very well kept, I enjoyed Mordue Brewery Geordie Pride, Glastonbury Mystery Tor - two good session ales. Would definitely return.
