Our final pub of the day was the Elsted Inn, a much more down-to-earth establishment than the Three Horseshoes up the hill. There is an L-shaped bar with an adjoining overflow area and a rear outdoor courtyard. The car park is quite tight.
Flowerpots Pots Bitter & Gooden's Gold were the 2 cask ales. Whilst not normally a fan of golden beers, my Gooden's Gold was probably my favourite beer of the day. It was in an excellent condition. Food was also being served and was much more like typical pub grub and more reasonably priced when compared with the Three Horseshoes. The two pubs in the village are nicely contrasting and both certainly have their merits.

Originally built as a station pub on a now defunct Petersfield to Midhurst railway line , the pub now sits isolated in the West Sussex countryside. There is a central bar with three seperate walk through rooms, what appears to be the main drinking area at the front of the pub is furnished with barstools, armchairs and a couple of normal tables and chairs. Three locals all around the 80 year old mark were present on my visit sat chatting in the armchairs and seemed very at home. Four handpumps were on the bar with the simple choice of two beers , London Pride and Hogs Back TEA, I opted for the Tea and was warned by the Landlady it was the first one out today so I should let her know if it wasn't up to standard, she came back to check but it was fine.
A pleasant enough country pub but I suspect it doesn't get too many passers by.
