Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Driftwood
Normally a very busy student bar, but very quiet early on a Monday evening. Faux-rustic interior with minimal decor but multi-coloured lighting. On the plus side, music at a relatively sensible volume for the time of day; but very much outweighed by having no real ale and quite a limited keg selection (and several of those were off after a busy weekend). Opted for a quick San Miguel (£2.20, half) before moving swiftly on.

Colin Walker left this review about Driftwood
Driftwood is known in Glasgow for it's ragged wooden signage with the wood looking like it has just washed up on a beach hence the name “Driftwood”. It prides itself in being a small independent venue and was recently awarded the honour of the Best Bar None – Bar of the Year for Glasgow. Driftwood is situated within the beautiful Grade A listed Charing Cross Mansions which was designed and built in a French renaissance style by John James Burnett in 1891. John James Burnett was an influential figure in British modern architecture and was in fact knighted in 1914 for his work on the Edward VII Galleries at the British Museum. One of the pub’s most beautiful features is its listed cupola at the rear of the bar, which is intricately painted to represent the outside sky. The bar is usually filled with students.
