An estate pub, right in the city centre. I have never seen so many scumbags in one pub on a Saturday night. There's a raised seating area to the rear which was in darkness and a further raised area to the left with a pool table. No real ale of course, so I had to have a half of fizz. It's a pit, don't go in.

A bit of a dive and really not worth the effort of walking through the door. No real ale. Seemed to be the haunt of local divvies on this day.

The Castle and Falcon was built in the late 70s when the new Eagle Centre market was built, the pub used to be a Bass tied house with a pretty crap pint on the bar.
I decided to try this pub again after a long time without going in it,the pubs layout is still the same,a smalish oblong shaped room with the bar to the front right, the room is a bit scruffy and bare boarded, there was some bench seating to the right and a pool table in a small area to the front left.
There were no real ales on the bar but there were two unclipped pumps,i had a drink of John Smiths smooth crap which was crap, there was a DJ playing some very loud music, the pub was packed on my Saturday night visit.
I dont mind drinking in dumps like this, but it would probably not suit most normal drinkers.
