Check the opening hours carefully..... for a pub, its amazing its not open on Fridays or Saturdays!

Delightful multi-purpose building, with black beams and other woodwork, no doubt much of it original. The bar counter is fairly recent, by the looks of it, but is in the same style, and has three hand pumps (see photo for beers). The juke box is probably as old as some of the timber, but still functions. My half of Gan Yam Hay, a hoppy pale, was very good (NBSS 3.5). The ambience is somewhere between art museum, artisanal pottery gallery and ethnic cafe, with the pub not exactly an afterthought, just differently presented. I'm glad I decided to add this to my itinerary on the spur of the moment. I dare say I could be persuaded to return.
