Strongers . left this review about The Rose Cottage Inn
The Rose Cottage Inn is located down a narrow country lane just far enough from the A27 to make the noise from the speeding traffic almost inaudible above the tweeting birds. There is limited space in the car park to the left of the pub, but this isn’t the biggest pub in the world. Outside the front are steps up to the patio area that houses some seating that overlooks the farm opposite. The bar and a small seating area is found on the right hand side of the pub and to the left of the pub is a smaller seating area complete with inglenook. There is a dining area at the front left of the pub and the interesting traditional mains cost around £8 a plate. The three ales available during my visit this afternoon (Monday) were Harvey’s Best alongside Dark Star’s Old Chestnut and Hophead. The draught is limited and the only ones I could see were Becks Vier, Meantime’s Helles and Stowford Press cider. There is no television here and there was no background music playing.
This is a decent pub that is probably packed on a summer weekend day. Be warned though that it is shut from 15:00 until 18:30 in the week/Saturday and from 15:00 until 19:00 on Sundays. The kitchen is open daily from midday until 14:00 and 19:00 until 21:00, except for Sunday when there is no evening service.
QI: The road outside this pub is closed every Good Friday when Morris Dancers turn up to entertain during the yearly traditional skipping contest.
