Recently refurbished inside and out, Fighting Cocks is a fine traditional corner pub, the only one left in the area. Knocked through into a single bar, it has tv screens, gaming machines and a dartboard, but these are unobtrusive. The barman was welcoming and professional. Clientele were friendly and inclusive. There were two ales on, both Wadworths. I had 6X which wasn't at its best but was still very drinkable. It's a bit out of the way but worth including on a crawl (if you don't mind a bit of a hike to the next pub) or dropping in for a quick pint.
