A corner bar on the main road into Gosport, the Market House Tavern is a rather dull town pub used mainly by locals. The bar was characterised by gaming machines and an over-loud jukebox, and there was a strong darts theme - this seems to be the sport of choice here, and there are numerous trophies on display. There was little in the way of welcome from the staff, and the locals seemed to resent the presence of a stranger. There was only one ale on, Speckled Hen, which was not well kept. This pub has little to recommend it, and I don't see my coming back in the near future.
