Good Beer Guide entry in a town that has a magnificent 7 - in 2025. OK Lancaster Brewery tied house that I think has just reopened after floods. The Lancaster Red was in fine condition. There were several others from the brewery noticed but not sampled.
Front bar with a narrow corridor leading to dining rooms, including one above on a mezzanine floor. They managed to squeeze us in for a £15 sunday lunch that was reasonable. I scrutinised the bill carefully to check if I had been charged for service. I was going to ask for it to removed after having to wait for everything from ordering, to condiments, to the bill, to the drinks. All this despite their silly buzzer system for assistance.
There was no service charge added.

I enjoyed my latest visit, with a difficult choice made easier by the unexpected appearance of Settle Ribblehead bitter among the vast array on the bar. It was almost ad good as at the Station Inn at Ribblead, but to be fair I hadn't walked seven miles for a beer on this occasion. Unusually for me, I enjoyed the background music. Probably the pub I would choose for just one if that's all you have time for in Ulverston.

As noted this is a Lancaster Brewery pub. It does indeed have 10 handpulls with 3 Lancaster beers and a selection of guest beers. It's a bit of a sprawling place with a rear area. Bare stone walls and a traditional, if insipid, feel to it.
