A large Flaming Grill with a steady food trade, but retaining quite a good pub feel in the different areas spreading out from the central bar. There are also various offers and events, such as free pool on Mondays and quiz nights. A bank of four handpumps offered mainly Greene King ales at time of visit but with the local Great Newsome Frothingham also badged although sadly not available. A pleasant enough place for a few pints, especially if eating.

The Old Grey Mare is a large pub that is opposite Hull university.
There was one very large room in this pub and the bar was facing as you entered,there were plenty of normal tables and chairs and there was a family dining area towards the back of the pub.
There were three pumps on the bar but only one real ale was on on my visit this was Adnams bitter this was ok but nothing special.
The pub was packed with students which did'nt surprise me with it being so close to the university.
