A pretty white washed pub from the main road view, to the side, where the door is, it is a larger modern extension stone building and car park. Obviously a food led pub, only the front left tables are set up with tablecloths, condiments etc. The rest of the L shaped “public bar” has wooden tables and chairs and banquette seating. The decor is very much 1960s with added fairy lights, an artexed ceiling, stuff hanging from blackened beams mostly sporting items from rowing, golf and fishing. Other miscellaneous stuff is available. A few pictures of sports teams including Wakefield Trinity are about. The floor is split level, the servery also L shaped, with two handpumps at one end, an average Landlord and Theakstons Lightfoot on, a Guinness solo and two half horseshoes holding a more upmarket keg choice of lager, cider and a Camden beer.

Side entrance leads straight to the bar. Two weak real ales, the rest keg. Room to the left of the bar used for dining.

The Mews Hotel is a short walk from the town centre.
This pub and hotel looks quite nice from the outside, once inside it is just as nice.
There is a single L shapes room with the entrance being on the right side of the pub,the bar faces, there a bench seat close to the bar,the main area is down a few steps, the bar is also in this area, the seating in the lower area is bench seating in the bay window and normal tables and chairs, the left side of the lower area had tables laid out with table cloths for diners.
The ceiling is beamed and the room carpeted throughout.
There was one hand pump on the bar which had Taylor Landlord on,this was quite a nice drink.
The pub does fresh home cooked food,i noticed it being brought in when i first arrived here.
There is a decent sized garden to the right of the pub with picnic benches.
This is a very pleasant and comfortable pub,the sort of place to take your wife or girlfriend to.
