The Monarch Bar is a small single roomed pub that felt busy on a recent Tuesday evening visit when 15 or so locals were watching Rangers get pummelled on the television via TNT Sports. The serving counter runs along the right-hand side of the rear wall where it faces seating under the front windows. A pool table sits in the centre of the room and there’s also a dartboard, and jukebox that was off due to the match. Standard and premium keg was available from the friendly barman, half a Tennents was £2. I didn’t see anything here that would have me rushing back.

Traditional pub with pool and darts, large beer garden and a function room for hire for parties, celebrations, corporate events and live music.

Thirst Kirsty’s sits across the road from the large indoor shopping centre and just along from all the main bus stops. All very bland from the outside but all cosy and traditional inside. The usual Tennents beers on tap. There is plenty of car parking about so check out http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/dunfermline/
