There was a mix of old and young in the Farmers Arms during a recent Monday evening visit. A U-shaped bar counter centrally placed on the right-hand wall faces a vault to the front where the old locals had settled in. I sat in the empty bar area to the rear where I could see into a lounge area to the left rear where there’s seating, a fireplace and a stags head on the wall. The boisterous young’uns were playing a vocal game of pool on the table in the left front of the pub. Televisions were playing sport and the jukebox sat silent. As a non-local I’ll not be visiting here again, but I will mention that the barmaid was very friendly, and helpful in my quest for a VAT receipt. Standard and premium keg was available alongside three hand pumps that were drawing JW Lees beers.

The Farmers Arms is situated just away from the town centre.
This is a decent looking stand alone pub and the entrance is to the left of the pub, once inside the pub had a few different rooms and i had a drink in the room at the front which was quite smart and comfortable so i think this was the lounge.
When i visited this pub it was a Boddingtons tied house and there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Boddingtons mild and this was a fairly nice drink the other beer was Boddintons bitter.
I thought this was quite a nice pub to have a few drinks in.
